Earlier this week, I was able to travel to the White River Apache Reservation in north eastern Arizona. I had never been to the reservation before and was interested to hear about the work our department was doing with the tribe. We attended a tribal health meeting – and then had a bit of time to see sights on the reservation before heading back to Phoenix.
It was one of those Arizona Highways kinda days. Bright blue skies, heavy white clouds, a flood of golden light. I was thankful we had time to wander before piling back in the car. A few shots, namely from the Theodore Roosevelt Boarding School site where Apache children were once housed and “educated.”
