I am wrapping up life in Colorado and the last week in particular has been one odd, noteworthy social event after another.

Take, for example, the dinner party I attended late last week. Each attendee was assigned a course — all of which had to include peanut butter. That’s right. A ground-nut themed dinner party.

Appetizer: jalapenos, stuffed with peanut butter, breaded with panko, wrapped in bacon and deep fried. I know. I know. It sounds crazy and yet — it is the most delicious combination of spicy, sweet, savory and salty that you can ever imagine. Holy yes.

Main course: sesame spicy peanut noodles with roasted chicken and vegetables.

Dessert: peanut butter pumpkin cookies and peanut butter milkshakes.

This culprit organized the party. I will really miss living near Sagar, Mark and Kendra. Oh, the fun we have! They love board games. Each time we get together, these brainiacs have a different game to play — several of which they created. Sagar is the most read person I’ve ever met. Plus, they have a chinchilla named Kanye and a blind dog named Izzie. So, any adventure to their house means at a minimum, a moment of feeling like St. Francis. These three are forever friends.

Next up on the weird social calendar: the yard sale when I hauled most of my house outside on the lawn to have strangers haggle over the value of said items. (aka: HELL)

It is liberating and terrifying to sell 85% of everything you own.

Afterward, I went to a wig-themed birthday party:

And then ended up dancing until 2 am with a gaggle of Denver friends. I am going to miss this town. Colorado has been very good to me!
